Entry 18

On the sixth day of my waiting, I heard their ship pass through the atmosphere of Menoetius. The ship was relatively small, maybe only carrying a crew of 4. They landed right in the middle of the rocks and promptly jumped from the back entrance to the ground. I quickly stealth myself and my duffle and run up as quietly as possible, as if I needed it. The largest Eyelan, the same from both invasions, is shouting at another Eyelan and throwing his hands in the air.

I waited for days under my cover by the lake with no signs of their ship. I passed the time by reciting movie scripts or going over the history of humanity. In my intense boredom I discovered my ability to stealth objects and parts of my shelter, a craft that would come in handy.

It took me all afternoon, but I managed to get some rocks to form the words, “I will trade Noomi’s life for mine”. I laid them out plainly on the surface of the most open plain of the valley. It wouldn’t be long before they swept back over the area, they must have known someone else was here.

I found Dr. Eden’s journal hidden under some clothes in the spare dresser. Simply the thought of her screaming for me makes me sick to my stomach; I think this is what guilt feels like. I could have come out of stealth at any point, but I didn’t. I just sat there with my head in my hands praying to Gods that don’t consider me their child to save her, to give me courage to get up and fight the Eyelans. All I could do in that moment was weigh the millions of options and calculate survival percentages. None of the outcomes left me alive. I was outnumbered and out powered, I had seen their strength.

Entry 14: Year 3034: Menoetius

I awoke the next morning to Adam shaking me. He appeared to be quietly shouting something at me.

“Noomi! Wake up! Wake up, the Eyelans-“
